Mediation
Mediation is a voluntary, private process where I help two people work through their disagreements and reach their own agreement, without handing the decision to a court. I stay neutral throughout: I don't take sides, I don't give legal advice, and I don't decide the outcome. Instead, I help both parties talk productively, understand each other, and find terms they can each live with. It's confidential, it moves at your pace, and it keeps the decisions in your hands. Mediation is often faster, less expensive, and far less adversarial than litigation, and it's especially valuable when there are children involved and an ongoing relationship to protect.
Most people believe divorce means hiring attorneys, going to court, and spending tens of thousands of dollars fighting. It doesn't have to.
In Indiana, you have the right to divorce without hiring a lawyer. Couples who can reach an agreement on parenting, property, support, all of it, can have that agreement written up, file it with the court, and finish their divorce without a single contested hearing. Mediation is how you get to that agreement. You stay in control of the outcome instead of handing it to a judge.
The math is straightforward: contested divorces routinely cost each spouse five figures. Mediation typically resolves everything for a fraction of that, shared between you.
To be clear: this isn't anti-lawyer. Either of you can consult an attorney at any point, and sometimes I'll recommend it; having a lawyer review your agreement before you sign is never a bad idea. Lawyers are a tool. The question is whether you need two of them fighting for months, or whether you need a structured conversation and a written agreement. For many families, it's the second one.
What it costs. Mediation is $185 per hour, split between both parties; roughly $92.50 each. Most divorces resolve in two to four sessions. Compare that to a contested divorce, which routinely runs $15,000 or more per spouse and can take a year or more to finish. Fees are paid from a retainer held on deposit; any amount not used is refunded when your case concludes.
Coaching
Divorce and rebuilding are some of the hardest things a person goes through, and you don't have to navigate them alone or without a plan. Coaching is one-on-one support focused on moving forward: getting clear on your goals, thinking through decisions, and taking concrete next steps. I'll help you prepare for what's ahead, communicate more effectively, and rebuild with intention. Coaching is practical and future-focused; it's not therapy or legal advice, but it's real guidance from someone who understands conflict and knows how to help people find their footing again.
What it costs. Coaching is $100 per session, and most clients work through a structured six-session program built around the framework in Chess, Not Checkers — stabilizing, understanding the process, thinking strategically, communicating and documenting, playing the long game, and rebuilding.
Parenting Coordination
Parenting coordination is a court-ordered process built for high-conflict co-parenting. As a parenting coordinator, I help parents put day-to-day disputes to rest, follow their existing parenting plan, and make decisions in the best interests of their children, so those conflicts don't keep landing back in court or on the kids. Unlike mediation, parenting coordination is not confidential, and my role is defined by the court’s appointment order. The goal is simple: less conflict, more stability, and keeping children out of the middle. (Available December 2026)
What it costs. Parenting coordination is $200 per hour, billed against a retainer as outlined in your court appointment order. Sessions are scheduled as disputes arise, so the pace and total cost depend on your family's needs.
Consulting
I work with organizations on the human side of conflict, communication, difficult conversations, leadership under pressure, and building healthier ways for people to work through disagreement. Drawing on a career in education, corrections, and learning and development, I offer training, workshops, and advisory work tailored to your team's needs. Whether you're preparing leaders for hard conversations or strengthening how your people handle conflict, I bring practical, grounded tools that work in the real world.
How payment works. All services are retainer-based. A deposit is paid before work begins and drawn down as sessions occur. If a balance runs low, it's replenished before further sessions are scheduled. This protects both of us: you're never billed unexpectedly, and any funds not used are returned.
